![]() Ship Towers |
|
During the Roman period, ship towers were fairly tall at an estimated height
of around 30 feet and were capable of housing six or seven men. The advantages
gained from the use of towers during hand-to-hand combat was suppose to
be quite significant, as the occupants of these towers would hurl javelins,
rocks, or could launch arrow and sling stone attacks upon the deck of the enemy ship. Unlike the Roman Corvus device,
ship towers could be taken down when not in use, or even unlocked and thrown
overboard quickly if need should arise. Roman Seas provides ship towers models in a separate PDF file. You may attach the ship towers directly onto the deck of your models, or have the towers placed onto stands so that they may be added and then removed during the course of a game (depending upon the rules you use). |
