Roman Navy Set: Ship Colour Themes

The Roman Navy Set models come in both Blue and Red colour themes. The two colour themes are offered as an option to those who are looking to distinguish between ships of two opposing Roman Fleets. For example: if you wished to fight the Roman Civil Wars at sea.

Although it is not known how the Romans painted their ships, it is known that they were painted quite brightly (the Britains called Roman ships, "the Painted Ships") and that little was done to distinguish between warring factions during the numerous Roman Civil Wars, which must have lead to numerous incidents of confusion in the heat of combat (what the military calls today, a "Blue on Blue" incident).
